2006 SC 430 MAKES ITS EUROPEAN DEBUT

Remodelled for 2006, the Lexus SC 430 presents a new degree of elegance, poise and effortlessly controlled power. An all-new front end incorporates revised headlamps and an increase in the volume of both grille and bumper reinforces the car's purposeful character. You will also notice the arrowhead motif, a feature shared on both the new GS and IS. This instantly identifies the SC 430 as the latest model to join a progressive new generation of Lexus cars.

The twin-barrel headlamp clusters are positioned on a higher plane than the grille, with its elegantly chamfered edges, giving a ground-hugging effect and accentuating the continent-crossing capabilities of this car. The lamps themselves use High Intensity Discharge technology for a broad, clear distribution of light, as well as the Intelligent Adaptive Front-lighting System (I-AFS) which swivels the lamps by up to 15 degrees as you enter and progress through corners. Attractive chrome centre bars running laterally across the front air vents, remodeled indicator lamps and high-gloss 18-inch alloy wheels are also new.

To the rear, horizontally aligned rear lamps in the two-step tail-light clusters reinforce the dynamic posture and a new, high-intensity LED lamp improves licence plate legibility.

The latest SC 430 is available in a choice of nine colours, including two new options, Red Metallic and Premium Brown, as well as three new standard colours, Premium Silver, Dark Grey Metallic and Premium Beige.

Subtle changes continue on board with a slightly revised instrument binnacle and new colour combinations of the head lining and A pillar. There is also a new interior colour choice, Camel, joining the current Ecru and Black options. Two new wood grain finishes are available – dark Bird's Eye maple and medium brown Walnut.

Out on the road, relaxed and effortless motoring is ensured thanks a high-speed DVD Navigation System that covers western Europe, while the latest Bluetooth® technology gives you hands-free connectivity as you travel. In addition, the SC 430 has a nine-speaker, 240W, eight-channel Mark Levinson® Premium Sound System tailored specifically to the acoustic properties of this sophisticated coupé-cabriolet.

Another key factor when it comes to effortlessly soaking up the miles is the car's 286bhp 4.3-litre V8 engine which can take the SC 430 from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 6.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 250km/h (155mph). For 2006 it is mated to a new, six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift mode. This system features an Artificial Intelligence (AI-SHIFT) control that automatically optimises gear changes according to road conditions and driving style.
