Powered by a 4.6 litre V8 engine, which is mated to the world's first 8-speed automatic transmission with manual sequential shift override, the LS 460 allows full exploitation of the engine's performance potential. There will also be a hybrid version of the car which will premiere at the New York Auto Show in April.

In the area of safety alone, the new LS features three world firsts: a Pedestrian Pre-Crash Safety system, a Rear Pre-Crash Safety system and a Driver Monitoring System. It also introduces Europe's first Lane-Keeping Assist system as well as a new, Low-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control.
