LEXUS L-FINESSE - MODERN JAPANESE ART MEETS AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN
Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano:
LEXUS at the Teatro dell'Arte 13-18 April 2005
Now, for the first time, the new L-finesse concept has been presented in a high-profile international design setting - the Milan International Furniture Fair - at Milan's prestigious theatre venue, the Teatro dell'Arte. Closely involved in the event organisation are several Japanese artists and designers who share and have adopted these new core values in the creation of a theatrical setting that evokes the finest iconographic tradition of Japanese art. The evocative display itinerary of the exhibition layout showcases the core values of the Lexus project: "cutting-edge technology, style and elegance" together with "emotion and comfort".
A magical, white mist-laden setting coordinated by the young architect Junya Ishigami, with paintings by famous artist Hiroshi Senju, and lighting design by international architect Kazuyo Sejima (the Golden Lion Award at Venice Biennale in 2004), are the backdrop for presenting the new Lexus GS and the LF-A concept car, the flagships of the premium Japanese brand.
"Time in Design"
Under the concept of "Time in Design", each space within the exhibition, from the entrance to the main hall and reception rooms, will be transformed into a stimulating, illusory world. Here visitors may spend time in unhurried meditation, experiencing works of art which reflect a uniquely Japanese sense of beauty whilst reinforcing both the "exquisite beauty" and "pursuit of the essence of luxury" fundamental to the goals of Lexus L-finesse design philosophy.
