The GX460 is available with the bespoke Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System (Optional), which is among the finest in-car entertainment systems available today. Supplying 5.1-channel audio, the key to its superlative 330 watt performance is 17 speakers, each one custom-engineered for its acoustic location within the cabin. Together with the 8-inch EMV (Electro Multi-Vision) display, it offers a complete home theater experience that incorporates an in-dash DVD player, and 2 USB ports/mini-jack for an iPod® or other media player.

GX_Features Intuitive Navigation

The advanced yet highly intuitive Lexus Navigation System with Bluetooth® function is easy to use. Directed either by voice command or using the touch-screen of the EMV (Electro Multi-Vision) display, the system will quickly guide you to your destination. One of the fastest and most user-friendly navigation systems available today, it features a dual-map display (large scale and small scale. Once you arrive, parking the GX460 is easy, thanks to its Parking Assist Monitor (Optional) and Wide-view Front & Side Monitor system (Optional).

GX_Features Advanced Flexibility

Changing the seven-seat configuration in the GX460 is easy. The second row seats can split 40:20:40 or be reclined. A power mechanism for the third row seats lets you effortlessly fold one or both seats fully flat to accommodate bulky items (Optional). There is also a convenient glass hatch in the back door that lets you load the vehicle without having to open the back door in tighter parking spaces.

GX_Features Bespoke Leather Seats

All seven leather seats in the GX460 are extremely inviting, and provide the extra lateral support needed for off-road driving. The second row, with its folding center armrest, can slide 135mm backwards or forwards for extra space and legroom. The third row is accessed by an innovative ‘walk-in function’ for the second row seat behind the front passenger’s seat that folds it forward when required. High-quality perforated leather seating is standard on the GX460, with bespoke semi-aniline leather available as an option.

GX_Features Inner Warmth

The GX460’s interior warms up as quickly as it cools, thanks to separate air conditioning compressor units in the front and rear of the vehicle. For colder climates, these operate at twice the output of conventional systems, and have been extensively tested in extremes from -45°C right up to +45°C. Further comfort is provided by Ventilated Seats with heating for the front seats (Optional), heated outboard second row seats (Optional), and Heated steering wheel.

GX_Performance Incredible Strength

The GX460 chassis was developed so that drivers can travel off- or on-road with near equal composure. Featuring a high-tensile steel ‘Body on Frame’ chassis, it is extremely strong, and provides outstanding resistance to twisting forces no matter how uneven the terrain. The rigidity of the chassis means that you can drive over the roughest country, cross rivers, and even climb mountainsides. These challenges were all faced and mastered by GX460 prototypes, which were driven for 30,000 kilometers off-road through the Australian Outback, followed by 70,000 kilometers on potholed tracks.

GX_Performance Precision Engineering

Lexus has always been committed to the concept of ‘jidoka’—the Japanese word for automation—with a human touch. This is exemplified by the GX460’s V8, in which precision-machined engine components are first meticulously cleaned and painstakingly scrutinized before assembly. Further quality control testing takes place to ensure the smooth running of the crankshaft beforehand assembly at our Tahara plant. To reduce the overall engine weight, the V8 cylinder block is die-cast in a lightweight yet strong aluminum alloy. Finally, each GX460 undergoes a demanding final track test.

GX_Performance Multi-Terrain Monitor

No driver can look in four directions at once. So, to give the GX460 owner a near 360° view of what is going on around the vehicle, a Multi-terrain Monitor (Optional) displays up to six images from the front camera, left and right door mirror cameras (front and rear views) and rear camera. Camera selection is operated via a multi-information switch on the steering wheel, and is particularly useful for spotting large rocks or ruts next to the vehicle, or for looking down from the brow of a hill to see the view below that is normally obstructed by an SUV’s hood.

GX_Performance World-Class 4WD Technology

The GX460 is one of most capable 4WD vehicles ever built. At its heart is a full-time 4WD system that gives maximum traction on slippery surfaces like snow, mud and ice, while a rugged new TORSEN® LSD (Limited Slip Differential) automatically directs power to the wheels that need it most. In addition, to ensure that as many wheels as possible stay in contact with the ground, Lexus developed an electronically modulated KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System).
